Our Classes

Bikram Yoga

A Bikram Yoga class comprises a series of twenty-six postures and two breathing exercises, (Due to Covid 19 we have currently eliminated the breathing exercises from our Bikram classes) It is a scientifically devised series of hatha yoga postures designed by Bikram Choudhury to bring balance, strength and flexibility into the body and mind.

The sequence of postures performed in a room heated to 40°c, impacts every part of the body in the correct order; each posture a preparation for the next, maximising oxygenation and detoxification of the entire body. Bikram Yoga is a way of bringing vitality, health and an incredible sense of wellbeing. The heat facilitates stretching, prevents injury and promotes sweating which aids detoxification. It is natural healing for the human body.

Work hard and challenge yourself - SWEAT!

Bikram Yoga is suitable for beginners.

The object of participation in the class is to build flexibility, strength and balance and to improve your body, improve your mind and ultimately improve your life. All of these improvements come in time and that is why it is called a ‘practice’.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, what kind of shape you are in, whether you’ve ever done yoga before, or even if you have some kind of physical or medical challenge to deal with. With yoga, you can make wonderful change happen.

Absolute Hot Yoga

What is it?
Absolute Hot Yoga is known worldwide and is comparitive to Bikram yoga in that it is a set sequence of trained, Hatha yoga poses practiced in a hot room.
You practice pose-by-pose, using static poses, practiced in a mirror to study and achieve the proper alignment.

This 50 posture sequence is ideal for beginners.
The Absolute Hot yoga class is designed to provide a full body work out.
Helps to strengthen core and  back muscles.
Improves your range of motion and flexibility.
Helps to calm the mind, helps with stress and anxiety

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a much slower pace of yoga to the Bikram or Absolute classes, it targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and the lower back.
A heated room is a perfect environment to practice Yin yoga as the heat allows you go deeper into your muscles.
The poses are held for up to 5 minutes sometimes longer.
Calms and balances the mind and body.
Reduces stress and anxiety.
Improves flexibility.
Releases fascia and improves joint mobility.
Balances the internal organs.
Improves circulation.

Suitable for beginners.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga aims to help us calm the nervous system through deep belly breathing and stillness in comfortable and nourishing yoga postures.  Restorative postures are modified with support from yoga blocks, bolsters, and blankets.

Rather than trying to lengthen the muscles through activation as we would in other classes like Bikram or Power yoga, in restorative yoga we aim to soften the muscles with the assistance of gravity. This class focuses on calming rather than achieving a deep stretch. Like in yin yoga, the poses are held for roughly 5-10 minutes.
Helps cultivate a sense of calm.
Relieves unacknowledged tension in the body.

Reduces stress and anxiety.
Balances the internal organs.
Improves circulation.

Suitable for beginners.

Improved cardiovascular health

Hot Power Yoga

Practiced in a hot room around 30 to 35 degrees.

What is it?

The rigorous, fitness based sequence aims to build strength, balance and mobility and unify mind, body and breath.

We always incorporate plenty of moderate to fast paced Sun Salutations and Chaturangas to get warmed up before building strength in the lower body and core through longer lunge holds, leg and arm balancing, inversions, twists and backbends.

Students are encouraged to find their edge and challenge themselves, whatever that might mean on any given day.

Suitable for beginners.
